Workshop - The need for a Climate Neutral Integrated System Package for Energy

Expanding the grid to connect renewable energy sources (RES) to consumers and to facilitate the use of RES across Europe is an essential and efficient way to decarbonise the economy. However, a RES based energy system will need more than grids to provide the required system flexibility. In our workshop, we want to investigate what elements are needed, with a focus on sector coupling, flexibility options and how to better use infrastructure.

Webinar - Digitisation in the electricity sector: Behind the buzzword

The Renewables Grid Initiative is happy to offer a training session webinar for NGOs on digitisation in the electricity sector and how it can help enable our transition to a decarbonised electricity system. With presentations from those working practically with the technology on the ground, this session will help us to get behind the buzzwords.

One day course for employees/volunteers of non-profits interested in gaining an overview of technical aspects of the decarbonisation of the power sector.

Conference in Barcelona "Leading Practices in RES Integration: A Global Perspective"

The conference showcased best practices of RES integration from different regions of the world. We shone a spotlight on many different RES integration practices: from the Mediterranean, across Europe and beyond.

RGI-PIK-Mercator Workshop: Are our market designs and policies fit to reach the Paris Agreement? Perspectives from California, Germany and Europe

The European Union has recently agreed on the clean energy for all package meant to put Europe on track to reach decarbonisation targets. Germany is one of the leading forces behind it, and more broadly tries to get on track to achieve its climate goals. On the other side of the Atlantic, California has broken record after record in renewable growth and carbon cuts.
