TenneT
In the summer of 2013, TenneT realized the first pilot project for financial participation of affected citizens of a transmission line in the region Schleswig-Holstein, in the Northern part of Germany. 15% of the investment sum of the “West-coast line” was made available for investment via so-called citizens’ bonds (“Bürgeranleihe”). People living within a radius of 5 kilometres of the new power line would be treated preferentially when issuing up to 10,000 Euros. More than 100 households signed up for the bond.
