Immersive Power: Extended Reality for Energy Infrastructure - An Experience Fair and Conference

Developers of large-scale projects are constantly faced with the challenge of building and communicating on technically and spatially very complex structures. Transformer stations, power lines, wind parks, motorways, or railway lines are infrastructure projects that – in most cases – only exist in technical plans before they are implemented. For a long time, it has been almost impossible to perfectly visualise their actual appearance up front. But this is changing rapidly, and together with TransnetBW, RGI is exploring this new, extended world.

The Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI) and German transmission system operator (TSO) TransnetBW are hosting an Experience Fair on Extended Reality (XR, including virtual and augmented reality) for Energy Infrastructure. The event will also feature a conference programme, and the exchange of best practice examples will take centre stage. Experts and practitioners will share their insights during panel discussions and present their XR tools and approaches at the Fair. 

Discussions and practices will address using XR to increase acceptability of projects by expanding individual imagination with digital animations, the potential to improve projects by developing digital twins, and standardising XR solutions, amongst others.

Exhibitors and speakers from all relevant sectors are invited. Please get in touch with us if you want to actively contribute to this event and ensure that as many users of XR applications as possible come together and learn from each other.
