Location WindEurope’s Annual Event in Madrid, Spain

This side event at WindEurope’s Annual Conference will explore why nature-inclusive innovation is essential for floating offshore wind infrastructure.

Overview

This side event will explore why nature-inclusive innovation is essential for floating offshore wind infrastructure. An expert panel bringing together NGOs, academia, and wind developers will discuss the opportunities and barriers to innovation in this field and examine how solutions can be supported and scaled up.

The event will also feature lightning talks showcasing nature-inclusive concepts developed by university students and SMEs from across Europe. These concepts include both Nature-Inclusive Designs (NIDs) and mitigation measures. Presenters are participants from the 2025 Innovation Challenge Series, organised as part of the Horizon Europe project NiD4OCEAN.

The session will conclude with a networking opportunity and a poster exhibition showcasing the concepts presented during the lightning talks. This will give participants the chance to ask questions and engage directly with the innovators behind the designs.

Those attending WindEurope’s Annual Event are welcome to register for the event below, but due to limited capacity, confirmation is on a first come, first serve basis.
