Climate Adaptation & Resilience
RGI promotes exchanges among different stakeholders to define the challenges and seek solutions toward climate-proof energy systems
about the topic
Increasing climate change and extreme weather events, such as storms, floods, and wildfires, distress electricity infrastructure and the entire energy system.
However, the consequences of these impacts and solutions to address them are not sufficiently incorporated in energy system planning.
To tackle this challenge, RGI convenes exchanges among grid operators, energy system and climate modellers, European authorities, civil society and researchers to define the challenges and seek solutions toward climate-proof grids and climate-resilient energy systems.

A survey for grid operators on climate adaptation and resilience measures
RGI and ENTSO-E launched a survey to gather insights on climate adaptation and resilience measures implemented in electricity grid infrastructure. The survey results hope to provide insights for ENTSO-E’s Cost-Benefit-Analysis (CBA) methodology and inform a database on the topic.
