An EU‑funded interdisciplinary initiative brought together researchers, grid operators, and NGOs across six countries to explore how engagement tools and stakeholder‑led processes can improve public participation in electricity grid development. By combining decision‑making methods with real‑world case studies, it forged a European guide to good practice in designing and testing engagement strategies with local communities.
The three policy briefs distil these insights into clear, actionable guidance. They show how trust, fairness and inclusive engagement are essential to reducing conflict and speeding up permitting for grid projects, offering planners and policymakers practical recommendations for building engagement that is effective, transparent and conflict-aware
