Third German TSO joins the Renewables Grid Initiative. A very warm welcome to Amprion!

Published 22 April 2016

Amprion has joined the ranks of RGI. The company is one of four German transmission system operators and supplies power to a population of over 27 million with a total circuit length of 11,000 km from Lower Saxony to the Alps. We are very happy to have them on board and extend a warm welcome.

Amprion’s Head of Asset Management, Gerald Kaendler, will be RGI’s main point of contact and he is looking forward to working closely with RGI and its partners: “We believe that strengthening relationships with NGOs and being challenged by them will give us a more diverse view on the future needs of the energy system and thus make our own approaches more robust”, he says.
