Join the Horizon Europe projects JustWind4All and WIMBY for their joint final event in Brussels. Together, we reflect on how co-produced knowledge, innovative tools, and inclusive governance approaches can accelerate wind energy deployment in a just and effective way.

Introduction

Over the past three years, JustWind4All and the WIMBY project have worked on:

Tools and policy insights for fair wind deployment
Strengthening local voices and regional collaboration
Advancing participation and energy justice as pillars of successful wind energy deployment

As the Horizon Europe projects JustWind4All and WIMBY come to a close, this joint final event brings together policymakers, regional implementers, and citizen stakeholders to explore how co-produced knowledge, innovative tools, and inclusive governance can accelerate wind energy deployment in a just and effective way.

The Event

‘Power with People’ directly targets regional energy planners and citizen stakeholders across Europe, equipping them with actionable tools and inclusive governance approaches for just wind energy deployment. Through an interactive public session for implementers, the day will showcase lessons learned, hands-on tools, and pathways for embedding justice and participation in Europe’s wind energy future.

The final event for both these projects will give participants the chance to hear more about JustWind4All and WIMBY’s results, explore interactive impact and value maps, meet Regional Wind Lab leaders, discover tools like the Compass for Decision-Making and Wind Energy Governance Toolbox, understand the Leadership in Transitions programme. Join us on 15 October in Brussels for this unforgettable event!

Block 1

Bridging the Implementation Gap

Objective: Set the stage by acknowledging the realities implementers face and introducing practical tools and insights from the projects.

Target audience: Municipalities, regional governments, implementers

Opening framing (5 min) — Why bridging the gap between EU policy and local reality matters now.

Projects’ input (15 min) — Short, focused presentations from JW4A and WIMBY highlighting tools & resources relevant to implementers.

Opening panel (30 min) — “What do implementers need to plan just and effective wind?” with speakers from WindEurope, The Nature Conservancy, ICLEI, and Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition.

Co-creation dialogue / Moderated discussion with audience (25 min) — “How can EU projects better support your work?” capturing practical recommendations.
