The Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI) is pleased to present its 2025 Annual Report, where we continued to systematically address emerging challenges while developing solutions and pathways. Deepening our understanding of an increasingly complex energy system, we strengthened our onshore and offshore work, scaled up global Nature- and People-Positive activities, and explored the power of approaching the energy transition collaboratively.

Our activities in 2025 focused on four areas:

Grids & Energy Systems, addressing the growing complexity of grid planning through a holistic approach, focused on optimising the system rather than tackling issues in isolation.

Energy & Nature, strengthening our onshore and offshore work by broadening our scope and expanding our communication and event activities

Global Initiative for Energy, Grids and Renewables (GINGR), moving from ambition towards measurable delivery with four Technical Working Groups.

Energy & Society, working with key stakeholders to ensure public engagement is meaningfully integrated into grid planning, while also continuing to explore the challenges of the energy transition with impactful events.
