OCEaN - North and Baltic Seas is proud to welcome two new Members: EnBW and The Danish Society for Nature Conservation. The Danish Society for Nature Conservation is the largest nature conservation and environmental organisation in Denmark while EnBW is an experienced offshore wind developer and provides innovative and sustainable energy and infrastructure solutions.

OCEaN - North and Baltic Seas is today welcoming two new Members: EnBW and The Danish Society for Nature Conservation. The Danish Society for Nature Conservation is the largest nature conservation and environmental organisation in Denmark while EnBW is an experienced offshore wind developer and provides sustainable energy and infrastructure solutions.

The Danish Society for Nature Conservation is a membership organisation that works to conserve nature and the environment in Denmark through local work, conservation, lobbying and specific projects. They believe that nature conservation alone is not enough to secure future generations and therefore also work towards creating a greener and more sustainable Denmark, including the transition to using renewable energy.

EnBW has transformed from a traditional energy company into an innovative and sustainable provider of energy and infrastructure solutions. Today, EnBW focuses on renewable energies, electricity grids, telecommunication networks, e-mobility, and smart, sustainable energy solutions. The company is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2035, actively pursuing this objective across all business sectors as a fully integrated energy company. Its strategies have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative, and by joining the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance, EnBW is further promoting decarbonization at the local level. Additionally, as an experienced developer of offshore wind farms, EnBW is dedicated to fostering sustainable development in European waters.

Lars Midtiby, Director, the Danish Society for Nature Conservation, on joining OCEaN:

"At the Danish Society for Nature Conservation, we are dedicated to conserving nature for future generations, addressing the biodiversity crisis, and ensuring a just transition to renewable energy sources. Joining the Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature enhances our efforts to combat climate change and protect our environment. We are excited about this opportunity to strengthen our work on these critical issues."

Holger Grubel, Head of Portfolio Development Offshore Wind, EnBW, on joining OCEaN:

"EnBW is pleased to join the Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature. The preservation of biodiversity is a central component of environmental protection and a sustainable offshore wind development. Convinced that these goals cannot be achieved alone, we look forward to working with OCEaN and its members to develop solutions for protecting the marine biodiversity while installing more offshore wind capacity."

OCEaN - North and Baltic Seas warmly welcomes EnBW and the Danish Society for Nature Conservation and looks forward to collaborating together to support and accelerate offshore wind deployment side-by-side with nature conservation and restoration.
