OCEaN - North & Baltic Seas welcomes Green Power Denmark as a new Member

With their many overlapping areas of work, OCEaN – North & Baltic Seas welcomes the expertise and ambition their new Member Green Power Denmark will bring to the Coalition and looks forward to collaborating on advancing nature-friendly offshore wind and grid deployment.

The Offshore Coalition for Energy & Nature – North & Baltic Seas is proud to welcome Green Power Denmark as a new Member. Green Power Denmark is a non-commercial business association representing approximately 1,500 members across the renewable energy value chain. Working at the industry level to shape legislation and regulatory frameworks that benefit the entire sector, their members include renewable energy developers, electricity companies, distribution system operators (DSOs), energy traders, and companies involved in refining, converting, and storing green electricity.

Green Power Denmark’s mission is to drive the green transition and support the development of a sustainable energy system in Denmark. Offshore wind is a core focus area for them and they work closely with developers and Danish authorities to ensure that offshore wind and grid projects align with nature protection and social responsibility. Their work includes advocating for nature-inclusive offshore development in tender requirements, fostering stakeholder partnerships, and promoting best practices for coexistence between renewable energy and marine ecosystems.

They aim to position Denmark as a global leader in nature-friendly offshore energy expansion. Through their participation in initiatives like OCEaN and their active role in regulatory processes, Green Power Denmark seeks to inspire even better integration of biodiversity and social values into offshore energy development.

With our many overlapping areas of work, OCEaN – North & Baltic Seas welcomes the expertise and ambition Green Power Denmark will bring to the Coalition and looks forward to collaborating on advancing nature-friendly offshore wind and grid deployment.

Camilla Holbech, VP Renewable Energy, PtX and International Collaboration, Green Power Denmark, on joining OCEaN - North & Baltic Seas:

“Offshore wind will, according to Danish and European plans, occupy large areas of the sea. As an industry, Green Power Denmark recognises that coexistence with nature is part of our license to operate if large-scale deployment is to become a reality. By joining OCEaN, Green Power Denmark seeks to strengthen our engagement with the international offshore community and contribute to the exchange of knowledge on how to balance renewable energy development with nature protection and social interests. Coexistence is a cornerstone of our work, and we are proud to bring our experience and ambitions into the coalition.”
