Med OCEaN welcomes new Member APREN
Today Med OCEaN is proud to announce its newest Member: APREN. APREN – the Portuguese Renewable Energy Association – is a non-profit organisation founded in 1988, with the mission of coordinating and representing the shared interests of its members while promoting renewable energy among all energy-sector stakeholders and civil society.
Today, APREN represents around 90% of Portugal’s total installed renewable electricity generation capacity. APREN acts with a unified voice within the national renewable energy landscape, supporting the development of renewable electricity, as well as green hydrogen and renewable fuels of non-biological origin. APREN continuously contributes to the design of policies, the formulation of strategies, and the advancement of national and international initiatives that foster sustainable growth through cooperation, effective communication, and active engagement with all sector stakeholders.
Med OCEaN welcomes APREN and looks forward to working on our shared mission to advance offshore renewable energy in Southern European waters alongside nature conservation and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Pedro Amaral Jorge, CEO, APREN, on joining Med OCEaN:
“APREN is proud to join the OCEaN, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, biodiversity conservation and the responsible expansion of offshore renewables across Europe.”
