CEEweb - Collaborating to advocate for resilient ecosystems

CEEweb for Biodiversity is a network spanning across central and eastern Europe countries, focusing on conservation of biodiversity through the promotion of sustainable development. Their work is primarily through advocacy, networking with and influencing decision-makers, implementing national and transnational projects, and carrying out capacity-building and raising awareness activities.

Highlights

• Works in 9 expertise areas, including Green Infrastructure and Ecosystem Services, Resilience, and Sustainability Governance.
• Works with Natura 2000 working group to support and protect the native habitats and species in EU’s special conservation area.
• Engages with conservationists, spatial planners, and other key stakeholders in developing integrated approaches to manage ecological corridors and reduce habitat fragmentation.
• Identifies key parameters in conservation areas, such as the Carpathian ecoregion, and maps target species, core areas, and critical barrier sites.

About the project

CEEweb, a network of 35 organisations from 15 central and eastern Europe countries, introduces a plethora of measures in 9 focus areas to build resilient and sustainable ecosystems in Europe. Action plans include transboundary projects that aim to raise awareness about sustainable development and Green Infrastructure. CEEweb also works in collaboration with other organisations and participates in expert groups. EU Biodiversity Platform, European Environmental Bureau, Climate Action Forum are some of the collaborations CEEWeb is part of.
