RGI and ACER Infrastructure Task Force Workshop on Regulation and Innovation

During the past years, many grid operators have substantially increased their stakeholder engagement activities, increasing transparency and speeding up grid development. These practices need a solid legal underpinning to be effective and consistent. We are meeting in Brussels to share experiences and discuss with TSOs and national regulators how participatory processes can be better recognised in national regulation.

The workshop aimed at facilitating an exchange between TSOs and environmental and climate protection NGOs, and the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) Infrastructure Task Force on the regulatory issues of grid development. During the full-day event, we touched upon the regulatory aspects of stakeholder engagement activities and other participatory processes in grid development.

It was a starting point for a very important conversation between regulators, TSOs and civil society that RGI will continue to facilitate and support.
