RGI / NABU / Fridays for Future Webinar (in German): Die Energiewende und das Stromnetz - Perspektiven aus Deutschland und Europa

The Renewables Grid Initiative, NABU and Fridays for Future Germany came together to offer an open-source webinar session in German by the title - "Die Energiewende und das Stromnetz - Perspektiven aus Deutschland und Europa" / "The energy transition and the electricity grid - Perspectives from Germany and Europe".

The webinar was moderated by Fridays for Future and featured input by Antonella Battaglini, CEO (Renewables Grid Initiative) and Verena Bax, EU Energy and Climate Policy Officer (NABU). They discussed the changing development of the transmission grid in order to incorporate increasing shares of RES and achieve decarbonisation as well as regulatory and environmental aspects of grid development. Furthermore, they discussed the need for collaboration, interconnectivity, fairness and local value and the balance between large and small scale RES infrastructure.

The session was be live-streamed on YouTube and can be viewed below. The webinar was interactive, with a Q&A function enabled and no registration necessary to join.
