COP28: GINGR Launch Event

A technical assistance platform to enable a speedy transition to a renewable and nature positive future.

To achieve a just and sustainable transition to clean energy, we need to expand renewable energy sources and electricity grids on a global scale – while also ensuring the protection and restoration of the natural environment.

Join the Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) at the IUCN - Unite for Nature Pavilion at COP28 (Zone B7, Building 87) on 5 December 2023 from 10:45 to 11:45 GST for the launch of GINGR: Global Initiative for Nature, Grids, and Renewables.

GINGR will support governments, industries, civil society, and the financial sector in reaching their energy, climate, and biodiversity targets in a timely and symbiotic manner. To do this, the GINGR platform will provide technical assistance through a help desk for speeding up the implementation of nature-based solutions and assess efficacy against defined and agreed criteria.

Please reserve a spot to indicate your interest in the GINGR Launch Event. Drop-in attendees welcome. Accreditation for the COP28 Blue Zone is necessary to attend this event.

Location: IUCN "Unite for Nature" Pavilion (87)
