TenneT
Recognising that sound scientific proof is necessary to convince affected populations of the need for a specific power line, TenneT initiated a new approach on the western coast of the federal state, Schleswig-Holstein before the NABEG was introduced.
In 2010, local distribution network operators commissioned an institute to conduct a scientific capacity study, which resulted in an energy scenario for 2020 that predicts 9,000 megawatts of wind energy in Schleswig-Holstein. Afterwards, the regional government asked all grid operators to develop an integrated net concept for this specific scenario.
