Multi-Criteria Analysis

Year

2011

Organisation

National Grid

Description

Through a multi-criteria analysis approach, advantages and disadvantages of different technically-feasible options are evaluated by National Grid.

Main information:

They consider environmental, socio-economic and technical issues alongside capital and lifetime costs. These categories do not have a strict hierarchy. Rather, they are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The methodology of appraising the various options only supports the decision-making process; it does not replace it. The advantage of the analysis is that it ensures that all relevant aspects are actively being considered.
