OUR WORK
DIMENSIONS

RGI is a unique collaboration of NGOs and TSOs from across Europe engaging in an ‘energy transition ecosystem-of-actors’. We promote fair, transparent, sustainable grid development to enable the growth of renewables to achieve full decarbonisation in line with the Paris Agreement within three dimensions:

We ensure energy systems both onshore and offshore are developed in coherence with nature and biodiversity, promoting mitigation, enhancement and restoration measures.

We enable discussions on how to model, plan and implement decarbonised and optimised clean energy systems, including different voices in the process.

We include and engage citizens, civil society and policy makers on strategies towards full decarbonisation, building capacity on the role of grids within the energy transition.

OTHER
ACTIVITIES

The 'RGI Grid Awards: Good Practice of the Year' recognises organisations who dare to push the boundaries in deploying grids for the energy transition. Every year, we extend an invitation to all innovators working on fresh technological solutions, addressing ways to gain greater public backing for grid projects, or devising better approaches to safeguarding the environment. Share your practices through our award competition and underline the crucial importance of electric grids in our energy future.

Are you facing a challenge regarding grid development and its environmental impacts, stakeholder engagement or technological and design decisions? Browse our best practice database with more than 100 examples and get inspired.

Who is RGI?
