We are looking for a motivated individual with at least 3-4 years experience in accounting and EU projects reporting, preferably in an NGO/non-profit environment.
Duties will include
- Preparation of monthly financial statements employing various cost allocation techniques
- Financial reporting to the European Commission for granted projects
- Financial management of a multiple partner consortium
- Parallel administration of EU projects and institutional funding
- Preparation of project budgets and participation in preparation of EU/German funding application
- Liaise with the EU financial authorities, auditors and the German tax authorities
- Handling of a VAT account
Additional skills
- High English proficiency and German proficiency (management of interaction with German Steuerbüro)
- Well-written in both languages
- Self- confidence to interact with international partners and European Commission in English
- Working independently, able to develop new solutions, structured, good time management

Job offer Senior Project Manager

Tasks
To set up a multi-stakeholder “Learning Group” on cross-country development of marine grid infrastructure. The group shall consist of all relevant parties with interests in this topic. It shall deal with questions on the development of marine spatial plans, how relevant data can be shared across countries and how environmental and societal impacts of siting, construction and operation offshore and at landfall points can be assessed and mitigated in the best possible way. It will identify main challenges to an efficient collaboration of the relevant parties to deal with those challenges.
The selected candidate’s primary tasks will be to independently:
- Identify most important stakeholders
- Win them for active engagement
- Together with the group develop a detailed agenda of tasks to work on and working mode
- Project management of actual working procedures, including organisation of meetings, moderation of workshops
- Development of project proposals for fundraising based on the generated insights
- Relate with relevant policy institutions to enhance the dissemination of gathered insights.
The work will translate into white papers, it will feed into concrete grid development projects of RGI’s TSO partners and it will be used for advocacy purposes with relevant European and national institutions.
Qualifications
RGI seeks candidates that actively generate and implement ideas. The ideal candidate should possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:
- Proven experience with environmental assessments for major infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of European Environmental and energy legislation
- Sound understanding of the energy sector
- Good general understanding of legal procedures related to spatial planning and permitting procedures
- Understanding of European policy mechanisms – ideally some EU related experience
- At least 4 years of working experience (in addition to internships)
- Ability to work fully independently, highly efficiently structure own work and the work of team members; be a respected discussion partner for senior stakeholders from the TSO/private sector as well as from the NGO/non-profit sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; at least one further European language highly desirable
- Fast learner with ability to quickly understand new issues; convincing personality with strong capacity to build up trustful relationships
